UCAN Birmingham UCAN is a registered CIO established in 2009 has run a series of successful events and projects that deliver sports, arts, music and sport collectively. Members within the organisation have universal skill set that can deliver on cultural programmes and events. Our work is providing support to local non-profit organisation, as well as facilitating projects Our main programme is This Is My City, which is a 4-part community programme linking all residents in Birmingham and celebrating the identity of the Commonwealth communities that settled in the city. The project had four main themes • Pillars of the Commonwealth • Dishes of the Commonwealth • The ‘Commonwealth Health Outreach Programme’ • ‘This Is My City’ Festival As a result of the Covid 19 Pandemic, we delivered many of our projects digitally, including our annual digital festival and our This Is My Lockdown programme, - creating a This Is My City Birmingham Channel.

Angela Kumah leads a discussionto provide an insight to the impact that Covid 19 pandemic on the well-being of the black community, with local Birmingham leaders, Councillor Paulette Hamilton, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care; and Beresford Dawkins Community Development Lead, Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Covid 19 quarantine and social distancing policies have resulted in everyone living in a world where many of us are separated from our friends, family, and many of our usual support systems. This can lead to an increase in anxiety and wellbeing issues.
